Plum
Plum is a cycle-aware planning and tracking platform designed for people who experience menstrual cycles. Rather than treating each day as interchangeable, Plum is intended to help users understand how symptoms, energy, mood, and other patterns affect their day-to-day life and use that information to plan more intentionally. The platform will combine symptom tracking, cycle-based planning, AI-generated insights, and a cyclical timeline that lets users view life one cycle at a time alongside a traditional monthly calendar.
Why I Created It
I created Plum because I wanted a planning system that worked with my body rather than assuming that my energy, focus, and capacity would be the same every day. Traditional calendars organize life around fixed dates and schedules, but they rarely account for the cyclical patterns many people experience throughout the menstrual cycle. Plum grew from the idea of creating a tool that could connect those patterns with everyday planning, making it easier to recognize personal rhythms and make more informed decisions about how to structure work, rest, routines, and other parts of life.
Impact
The Plum concept and business pitch won 1st Place in Hofstra University's 2025 Foundations of Innovation competition, providing early validation for the product idea before development began. The project is now being expanded from the original competition concept into a more complete product vision and eventual implementation.
